Some Popular Plastic Profiles Explained

Plastic profiles are used by many sectors including construction, manufacturing, fitout, signage and exhibitions to name but a few. At MKM Extrusions we manufacture and supply a wide range of profiles which can meet a diverse range of needs. We offer many different plastic extruded profiles on our online shop, and we also manufacture custom products for shapes that are not in our stock range and for which larger quantities are required. Here is a closer look at some of our popular plastic profiles.

Plastic Angle Trim

Plastic angle trim, also known as PVC angle, right angle trim, or L trim, is often used for edge protection, corner protection, trimming and finishing edges. Available in many different sizes and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. This plastic profile has the shape of a capital letter L with both equal and unequal legs. Colours in our stock range are black and white

Plastic Channels

Plastic channels are versatile profiles which are often used for capping, sliding track and edge trimming purposes for boards and panels. They come in different forms, including single and double channels. The single channel is often referred to as plastic U channel, as it is similar to the shape of a capital letter U although they have straight edges rather than curved. As our other products in our online shop, these channels are available in the colours black and  white and come in many different sizes.

Plastic Square Tubing

Plastic square tubing is a square hollow tube that is defined by its outside dimensions. It is sometimes referred to as plastic box section and is often used for framing and cable management applications. We also offer round plastic tubing. To have a better understanding of both these profiles please take a look at our blog which explains the difference between a tube and a pipe

Plastic Flat Strips

Rigid Plastic flat strips, or flat bar strips, are often used for edging, gap filling and spacer applications. These profiles come in various widths and thicknesses and are used in many different applications. It is a very simple extruded shape which has just two dimensions, the width and the thickness This plastic profile comes with square or round edges and is available in many different sizes in the colours black and white

H Joining Sections

H joining sections are often used to join panels and boards. These profiles have the shape of a capital letter H, and they are available in equal and unequal leg versions. As well as our H trims we also offer two-part interlocking H sections which are two profiles, a top and a bottom, which can be connected to each other. Which method is used will depend on your particular application. The interlocking profile has a convex top, where the standard H joining sections have a flat top. As our other products in the online shop, these trims are available in the colours black and white
