All our plastic profiles that are available on our online shop are sold in 75 metre packs, each pack contains 25 lengths of 3 metres. For custom extruded profiles we can extrude and transport lengths of up to 6 metres.
At MKM Extrusions, the word extrusions is the result of the process of creating long, continuous plastic shapes by pushing molten plastic through a die. With this technique we produce a variety of profiles used across numerous applications both for our online shop and for custom requirements.
Our Plastic F Joining Profile gets its name because of its shape, which looks similar to the capital letter F. It is manufactured from external grade rigid PVC, which means it can be used indoors and outdoors. This extruded plastic profile is produced in our UK factory and comes in several sizes.

Our full name is MKM Extrusions Ltd, the name we are registered as and the name given to customers when they contact us by phone. There are many plastics manufacturing companies in the UK, the majority of which are plastic moulders. We are not plastic moulders, we are plastic extruders and our name reflects how we use a different process. We have found that mkmplastics.com rolls off the tongue and everyone knows how to spell 'plastics.' There is no confusion about spelling, and the customer quickly lands on the right page. That is why we are known by both names - MKM Extrusions + MKM Plastics. You can also read our blog about our name: MKM Extrusions

At MKM Extrusions our stock range of rigid profiles are manufactured from an external grade of PVC. Technically this is uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) as it does not contain plasticisers which would make it flexible. However we do not add additional stabilisers which are often done in the window and double glazing industries. This blog explains all about the difference between rigid plastic and flexible plastic.
Rigid Plastic Tubing is suitable for general purpose applications such as modelling, crafts, packaging, flag applications and conduit and the construction of simple frames and structures.

Plastic U Channels can be used for capping, sliding track and edging trim for boards and panels. Plastic channel trim can cover unsightly and uneven edges giving a smooth and neat finish.
uPVC stands for Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride which means it does not contain additional plasticisers which would make the profile flexible. In the window and double glazing industries additional stabilisers are sometimes added to uPVC, this does not apply to the uPVC which we use. We have a blog post dedicated to the difference between PVC and uPVC.
Our Plastic Angle Trim is manufactured from uPVC, which means it does not contain added plasticisers which would give it flexibility. The ‘u’ in the abbreviation uPVC indicates it is unplasticised. However we do not use the type of uPVC which is sometimes used in the double glazing and window industries which sometimes has added stabilisers. Our uPVC angle trims are rigid profiles and can be used in external applications. See our blog explaining the difference between PVC and uPVC.
