J channel black is mainly used for edge protection and capping for boards and panels. The two legs are unequal in length, unlike plastic channels where both legs are equal. This product is shaped like the letter J and is manufactured from rigid PVC. You are welcome to request samples of J channel black to check suitability.

Plastic J channel is often used for edge protection purposes and for capping boards and panels. Plastic J channel strips are shaped rather like the capital letter ‘J’ but with straight sides rather than curved. They are similar to plastic channels where both legs are of equal length, whereas plastic J trim has one leg shorter than the other. Our plastic J channel trim is available in white and black and is made of rigid PVC
Plastic J channel trim has three important measurements. The first measurement is the internal width, which really means the size of the board or panel you are inserting into the J channel extrusion. The second measurement is the internal height and the third measurement is the overall thickness of the plastic J profile.

Plastic J channel strips are often used in the signage industry to provide capping in various situations.
As with all our extruded profiles the industries who use plastic J channels are wide and varied. However plastic J channels are typically used by retail display, exhibition stands, fitout, visual merchandising, lighting and cable management. This list is not exhaustive, plastic J channel trims are used in many other situations where there is a requirement for edge capping.
There are several other plastic profiles which are used for plastic capping purposes. It really comes down to personal preference as to which type of plastic capping channel you should use. As well as plastic J channel, there is also plastic capping which is very similar, plastic channels which has two equal legs, plastic angle trim which is L shaped, and plastic slide binders which is often used where grip is important.
Plastic J channel is available as part of our stock range in the colours white and black. However if you require in the region of 2000 metres, other colours of plastic J profile can be manufactured as a custom extrusion. We can match to specific RAL colours and have a range of standard colours if an exact colour match is not required.
